Caller ID & Identification

How Caller ID Works in Getcaller

Our Identification Technology

Getcaller uses a large database of phone numbers to identify unknown callers. When you search for a number, our system checks multiple sources to find information associated with it:

  • Community Database: Names and tags contributed by Getcaller users who have saved the number in their contacts.
  • Social Media Profiles: Linked TikTok accounts and other social media profiles associated with the number.
  • Public Records: Publicly available information linked to the phone number.

How Results Are Generated

  1. You enter a phone number in the Getcaller app.
  2. Our system searches the database for any matches.
  3. If a match is found, we display the associated name, profile, tags, and other information.
  4. Results are cached for faster future lookups.
Important: Getcaller can only display information that is available in our database. Not every phone number will have associated information. The more users contribute, the more accurate our database becomes.

Improving Accuracy

You can help improve Getcaller's database by syncing your contacts and adding tags to numbers you recognize. This helps other users identify callers more accurately. See Understanding Contact Tags and Names for more details.
