Special Setup for Xiaomi/MIUI Devices

Why Xiaomi/MIUI Needs Special Setup

Xiaomi devices running MIUI have aggressive battery management and app restrictions that can prevent Getcaller from working properly. These settings can stop notifications from being delivered and prevent the app from running in the background.

Step-by-Step Configuration

  1. Disable Battery Saver for Getcaller:

Go to Settings > Battery & Performance > App Battery Saver. Find Getcaller and set it to "No restrictions."

  2. Enable Autostart:

Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps > Getcaller > Autostart. Toggle it On. This allows Getcaller to start automatically when your phone boots up.

  3. Lock Getcaller in Recent Apps:

Open Getcaller, then open the recent apps view. Long press on the Getcaller card and tap the lock icon. This prevents MIUI from killing the app when you clear recent apps.

  4. Disable MIUI Optimization (Optional):

Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options. Toggle off "MIUI Optimization." This gives apps more freedom to run normally.

Note: These steps also apply to other Chinese Android manufacturers like Huawei (EMUI), Oppo (ColorOS), and Vivo (FuntouchOS). The menu names may differ slightly, but the concepts are the same: disable battery restrictions and enable autostart for Getcaller.
