Saving a number can make future calls easier to recognize, but it is optional. Take a moment to review the call details, any message, and the context you already have.
Start with the context
Check whether you expected the call, recognize the timing, or have a related message or appointment. A caller-ID label or lookup result can be useful context, not proof of a person’s identity.
Keep the contact clear
If you choose to save the number, use a name you will understand later, such as the service or purpose you can independently recognize. Avoid adding sensitive notes to a contact entry.
It is fine to wait
If the call remains unclear, you do not need to save the number or act immediately. Review it later when you have more context, and use your device’s normal call-management options if needed.
