Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the Getcaller app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by CloudLadder OU (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Commercial service.
Upon downloading or utilizing the Application, you are automatically agreeing to the following terms. It is strongly advised that you thoroughly read and understand these terms prior to using the Application. Unauthorized copying, modification of the Application, any part of the Application, or our trademarks is strictly prohibited. Any attempts to extract the source code of the Application, translate the Application into other languages, or create derivative versions are not permitted. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider.
The Service Provider is dedicated to ensuring that the Application is as beneficial and efficient as possible. As such, they reserve the right to modify the Application or charge for their services at any time and for any reason. The Service Provider assures you that any charges for the Application or its services will be clearly communicated to you.
The Application stores and processes personal data that you have provided to the Service Provider to provide the Service. It is your responsibility to maintain the security of your phone and access to the Application. The Service Provider strongly advises against jailbreaking or rooting your phone, which involves removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your device. Such actions could expose your phone to malware, viruses, malicious programs, compromise your phone`s security features, and may result in the Application not functioning correctly or at all.
Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Terms and Conditions. Below are the links to the Terms and Conditions of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

Purpose of Collecting Contacts
By accessing the user`s contacts, GetCaller will identify which individuals in the user`s contact list are also using the GetCaller app.
This access allows us to enhance user experience by enabling seamless connectivity and communication with existing contacts who are already using our services.

Usage collected Contacts
The contact information collected will be used solely for the purpose of identifying mutual GetCaller users and will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent from the user.
GetCaller will identify which individuals in the user`s contact list are also using the GetCaller app.
This data will be securely stored and processed in accordance with our privacy practices to ensure the protection of your personal information.

Responsibilities and Rules Regarding Tags
1. User Obligations and Responsibility
By using GetCaller, each user who adds a tag fully accepts responsibility for the content they add. The user releases GetCaller from any claims, costs, or damages arising from the tags they add and agrees to indemnify if necessary.

2. Violations and Consequences
If a user adds tags that violate app rules, laws, or the rights of third parties, GetCaller reserves the right to take administrative actions against the user’s account (e.g., warning, tag removal, account suspension).

3. Claims and Requests
If a user believes a tag about them is not accurate or is unfair, they may go to the "My Tags" section of the app and remove such tags themselves.

4. Indemnification
GetCaller is not liable for any claims, demands, or costs arising from user-added tags. In the event of such disputes, the user who added the tag must defend and indemnify GetCaller as needed.

5. Right of Intervention
GetCaller reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to delete or restrict any user-added tags without notice, especially in cases of legal violations, risks, or breaches of community guidelines.


Caller ID Service
GetCaller provides a Caller ID service that identifies incoming phone numbers and displays caller information on your screen during incoming calls. The service operates differently on Android and iOS platforms to ensure optimal functionality and privacy protection.

Android Platform - Caller ID Service
Required Permissions: To provide Caller ID service on Android, the app requires the following permissions:
- Read Phone State: To detect incoming calls and identify when your phone is ringing
- Read Call Log: To access call information and phone numbers
- Display Over Other Apps (Overlay Permission): To show caller information as a widget on your screen during incoming calls

How It Works on Android:
1. When you receive an incoming call, the app detects it using phone state monitoring
2. The incoming phone number is sent to our server at https://getcaller.net
3. Our server searches the database and returns the caller's information (if available)
4. The caller information is displayed on your screen via an overlay widget
5. The phone number and search information are logged on our server for service improvement, spam detection, and analytics

Data Collection on Android: On Android devices, our servers log the phone numbers searched, timestamps, device information, and search results. This data is used to improve service quality, detect spam calls, and maintain our database.

iOS Platform - Caller ID Service with PIR Technology
Privacy-Preserving Technology: On iOS, we use Private Information Retrieval (PIR) technology to ensure maximum privacy protection. This advanced encryption method ensures that our servers cannot see which phone numbers you are searching for.

How PIR Works on iOS:
1. When you receive a call, the phone number is encrypted on your iOS device before transmission
2. The encrypted query is sent to our PIR server at https://getcaller.net
3. The server processes the encrypted request without decrypting it - the server cannot see the actual phone number
4. The server returns encrypted results without knowing which number was queried
5. Your iOS device decrypts the response locally and displays the caller information

Privacy Guarantee on iOS: Due to PIR technology, our iOS implementation ensures that the server cannot see which phone number you searched for, cannot track your search history, and cannot associate searches with your account. All data transmission is end-to-end encrypted, providing mathematical privacy guarantees.

User Control and Permissions
You have full control over the Caller ID feature. You can revoke permissions at any time through your device settings (Android Settings > Apps > GetCaller > Permissions, or iOS Settings > GetCaller). Revoking these permissions will disable the Caller ID feature but will not affect other app functionality. You can also enable or disable the Caller ID service in the app settings.

Service Accuracy and Limitations
While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all caller information is correct or up-to-date. Caller information is compiled from user-contributed contact information, publicly available data, and community reports. The information is provided "as is" for informational purposes.

Compliance with App Store Policies
Our Caller ID service fully complies with Google Play Store and Apple App Store policies. We clearly disclose all required permissions, explain how data is collected and used, and provide users with control over these features. On Android, users must explicitly grant overlay permissions and phone state access. On iOS, we implement privacy-preserving PIR technology to exceed App Store privacy requirements.

Phone Number Search and Call Functionality
When you search for a phone number within our application, you will be navigated to the profile menu page. On this page, you can initiate a call to the number by selecting the "Call" button. Additionally, if you have received the contact permission, you can add the number to your contact list using the "Add" button.

Change interface language
Our app supports multiple languages. You can change the interface language you`re most comfortable with by going to the `Profile` section and clicking the `Language` button.

In-App Review
Description: GetCaller offers an in-app review feature allowing users to share feedback directly within the app. This feature is optional and can be skipped without impacting access to the app’s functionalities.
User Responsibilities: By submitting a review, users agree that the content of their feedback may be used to enhance app functionality and service offerings.

Push Notification System
Description: GetCaller provides a push notification feature to inform users of important updates and new features related to the app. Users may choose which types of notifications they wish to receive.
Notification Preferences: Users have the right to customize their notification preferences, including the options to:
Disable all notifications.
Disable notifications about new tags on their number.
Disable notifications when someone searches for their number.
Disable in-app announcement notifications.

User Responsibilities: By adjusting notification settings, users acknowledge that GetCaller will manage notifications per their preferences but may still send critical notifications related to account security or app functionality if necessary.

Delete my account and unlist me
Users, whether they use our mobile application or not, can choose to unlist themselves using the "Delete my account and tags" feature in the app. When a user opts for this, their information will appear as "unlisted" during third-party searches, with no details provided.
Upon selecting "Delete my account and unlist me," users of our mobile application will have their data deleted from our database within 30 days.
However, their information will be marked as "unlisted" immediately.
If the user logs into the mobile application within this 30-day period, the deletion process will be cancelled, their data will remain in the database, and also their unlist request will be cancelled immediately

Private mode
The contact information collected will be used solely for the purpose of identifying mutual GetCaller users and will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent from the user.
GetCaller will identify which individuals in the user`s contact list are also using the GetCaller app.
This data will be securely stored and processed in accordance with our privacy practices to ensure the protection of your personal information.

QR Code Scanning and Camera Permission
Our application provides the ability to use the Web version via QR code scanning. To enable this feature, we require your camera permission. If you do not grant camera permission, you will not be able to access the QR code scanning functionality, which is your right as a user.

Google Play Services
Please be aware that the Service Provider does not assume responsibility for certain aspects. Some functions of the Application require an active internet connection, which can be Wi-Fi or provided by your mobile network provider. The Service Provider cannot be held responsible if the Application does not function at full capacity due to lack of access to Wi-Fi or if you have exhausted your data allowance.
If you are using the application outside of a Wi-Fi area, please be aware that your mobile network provider`s agreement terms still apply. Consequently, you may incur charges from your mobile provider for data usage during the connection to the application, or other third-party charges. By using the application, you accept responsibility for any such charges, including roaming data charges if you use the application outside of your home territory (i.e., region or country) without disabling data roaming. If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you are using the application, they assume that you have obtained permission from the bill payer.
Similarly, the Service Provider cannot always assume responsibility for your usage of the application. For instance, it is your responsibility to ensure that your device remains charged. If your device runs out of battery and you are unable to access the Service, the Service Provider cannot be held responsible.
In terms of the Service Provider`s responsibility for your use of the application, it is important to note that while they strive to ensure that it is updated and accurate at all times, they do rely on third parties to provide information to them so that they can make it available to you. The Service Provider accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, that you experience because of relying entirely on this functionality of the application.
The Service Provider may wish to update the application at some point. The application is currently available as per the requirements for the operating system (and for any additional systems they decide to extend the availability of the application to) may change, and you will need to download the updates if you want to continue using the application. The Service Provider does not guarantee that it will always update the application so that it is relevant to you and/or compatible with the particular operating system version installed on your device. However, you agree to always accept updates to the application when offered to you. The Service Provider may also wish to cease providing the application and may terminate its use at any time without providing termination notice to you. Unless they inform you otherwise, upon any termination, (a) the rights and licenses granted to you in these terms will end; (b) you must cease using the application, and (if necessary) delete it from your device.

Changes to These Terms and Conditions
The Service Provider may periodically update their Terms and Conditions. Therefore, you are advised to review this page regularly for any changes. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms and Conditions on this page.
The company reserves the right to change the provisions of this agreement by adding or subtracting clauses when adding new services.
