How to Set Up Getcaller on Huawei and Honor Devices (EMUI & HarmonyOS)

Huawei and Honor phones running EMUI or HarmonyOS manage background apps more strictly than stock Android, which can stop apps — including Getcaller — from running normally. If calls aren't identified consistently or notifications feel delayed, a few settings changes usually help.

Why extra setup is needed

EMUI and HarmonyOS are designed to save battery by limiting which apps can run, launch automatically, or send notifications in the background. Open Getcaller, then open your recent apps view. Look for a lock icon on the Getcaller card and enable it if available. This helps prevent EMUI's memory cleanup from closing the app when you clear recent apps.

Step 4: Check notification permissions

Go to Settings > Notifications, find Getcaller, and make sure notifications are allowed. On some Honor models this is listed under Settings > Apps > App Launch instead — menu names and paths can vary slightly by EMUI/HarmonyOS version and model.
